So…the first day can either be the easiest or the hardest…mine was just blah. While I did do the 30 minutes of exercise and it was a nice long set of arm and ab exercises, I definitely wasn’t lighting the world on fire with exercise inventiveness. Somehow working out in your bedroom while your husband and daughter are watching “The Jungle Book” just behind the door isn’t as much fun as I know it can be. FUN??!! you ask yourself? Well, I’m one of those weird-o people who actually likes to exercise…once I get to the gym or start walking or whatever I’m digging it. I try to go to the gym several times a week since that’s why I’m paying the membership–it’s just hard. Jimmy doesn’t get home until almost 6, then it’s time for dinner, Allee time and my own homework and housework—WHEN does the exercise magic happen?? I have gone at 4:40 in the morning and once I’m there it’s fine…it’s just really hard to get out of a nice warm bed when it’s 17 degrees outside (or 45 degrees for that matter). But I am, if nothing else, stubborn and I WILL find a way to get all 30 minutes (and hopefully more) for the next 100 days.
Today was the first day of the second semester. Fun stuff. The day started off with a trip to the teacher’s lounge…a trip that was quick due to the foul, foul dookie smell someone stunk up the place with. I walked in behind 2 other fine ladies and it hit us all at about the same time–we all had this look of stunned disgust. With a quick look into our mailboxes, we all made fast getaways, with mumblings of ’someone just STANK that place up’…or ’someone needs to spray’ (as in air freshner)…or ‘COME ON…seriously, you couldn’t do it at home??”…to which I added–I’m totally breathing thru my mouth til I get out of here. And that, my friends, is the story of life in the teachers’ lounge. Some lounge lizard always got to be stankin’ it up!
